Preschool Policies for Parents (because we care)

  1. Parents or guardians will leave and retrieve children at the classroom door. No child will be released by a worker to another child. Children will be retrieved immediately at the close of each session.
  2. A teacher cannot accept a child unless there are two teachers in the classroom. Parents may be asked to stay or keep the child with them until the second teacher arrives.
  3. Parents will be issued a numbered card to provide security and identification for their child. Cards must be returned at the end of the session before a child can be dismissed.
  4. Beepers are available for parents upon request. These may be checked out at the preschool reception desk.
  5. The parents or responsible adult must be in attendance at a church function in order to leave children in a preschool room. If one of the parents is not involved in a planned program, that parent should care for the child at home.
  6. Preschoolers, teachers, and preschool administrative staff are the only persons permitted in the preschool rooms once the session has begun.
  7. Sick children will not be accepted in a classroom. If a child displays fever, rash, heavy cough, extremely runny nose, green mucus discharge, diarrhea, or symptoms of any other contagious disease, the parent will be asked to take the child from the room to help protect the other children present. The child should be symptom-free for 24 hours before being brought to the classroom.
  8. Workers will not give medication to any child.
  9. Children should be fed before being brought to a preschool room, unless a planned program includes a meal for ages 1 year and older. Prepared bottles brought by the parents will be given to each baby according to the parents' directions.
  10. All articles brought by parents should be labeled with the child's name. This includes labeling diaper bags.
