AMPED: AMPLIFYING THE MESSAGE OF CHRIST TO THE RIVER VALLEY AND BEYOND
Our Mission: To become a student ministry that impacts our world by SPEAKING the Words of God, TEACHING by the power of God, GROWING together by the grace of God, SERVING by the strength of God, and LIVING by the will of God. For His glory and our good!
SPEAK (Evangelism)
Our student ministry is built around the commission that Jesus gave us. Students are the ones who make this ministry successful, and we teach them how to share their faith. We help them identify where they are in terms of commitment to becoming student "ministers," returning to their campuses to impact their world.
5 Steps of Commitment
1. Campus: Any student who goes to school but is unchurched.
2. Crowd: Any student who just follows the crowd.
3. Connected: Any student who is connected to our church, but not really committed to growth.
4. Committed: Any student who is connected to our church and committed to our Student Ministry.
These have taken ownership in what we do.
5. Core: Any student who is connected to our church, committed, and has found where their
giftedness is. These students have made it their goal to grow.
TEACH (Discipleship)
Students can study God's Word Sunday mornings at 9:15am and also in small groups that meet on Sunday evenings or at other times during the week. They can discuss life issues they're facing and find out what God's Word says about it. Wednesday nights are a time for praise and worship and preaching.
GROW TOGETHER (Fellowship)
We offer many opportunities for students to connect with one another through small groups, summer camps, and fall retreats.
SERVE (Ministry)
Outreach Team: meets weekly to pray and make personal contacts with prospects and members who need an extra touch.
Greeting Team: meets students as they come on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, making them feel welcome. This team also sends out cards and CDs about our ministry.
Set Design Team: creates backdrops and other design projects for each new study.
Media Team: is in charge of all technical aspects of our ministry. On Wednesday nights they run our sound, lighting, and video to enhance worship.
Worship Team: consists of students with the talent and passion to lead students in worship through music.
